The UGC, in a letter to the heads of all universities, has asked for details including discipline-wise list of text books/reference books available/used in local languages, availability of subject experts who can write or translate in local languages, and availability of local publishers for printing textbooks in local languages, as it stressed on the need to strengthen efforts for writing textbooks in mother tongue/local languages and encouraging their use in teaching.

CBI files FIR against Oxfam, searches office in FCRA case
