While 100 women joined IIT-Bombay in 2017, the number has touched 271 now. In case of IIT Delhi, the corresponding numbers are 90 in 2017 and 246 as per the most recently released data of 2021 admission statistics. While total students admitted at the IITs have increased from 10,988 to 16,296 between 2017 and 2021, the women population has almost tripled: 995 to 2,990.

Globally 44.4% (4.5 million) of all cancer deaths were attributable to risk factors, says the study. The estimates are based on the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk factors Report, 2019. Officially, the Clinical Trial Registry of India (CTRI) does not exist anymore since there has been no official order extending its existence beyond June 30, 2022. The existing staff of CTRI also have not been given any further extension. But over 1,060 clinical trials have been registered between July 1 and August 5.
